Tiny Health Raises $33M Series B to Establish Microbiome Intelligence as the Standard of Care
Led by B Capital, the round will accelerate Tiny Health’s mission to make the gut microbiome measurable, accessible, and actionable, becoming central to precision health across the lifespan
AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 29, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tiny Health, the microbiome intelligence platform pioneering gut and vaginal microbiome testing across the lifespan, today announced a $33 million oversubscribed Series B round led by B Capital, bringing the company's total funding to $46 million. Existing investors Spero Ventures, The Venture City, Overwater Ventures and others participated alongside other new investors including Black Opal Ventures, Denver Ventures, Pave Health Ventures, Alumni Ventures, Gaingels, and Pari Passu Ventures. In tandem with the raise, Tiny Health announced the launch of a $5 million Microbiome Research Program to accelerate microbiome research and close the gap between the science and clinical practice.
The round comes as mounting evidence connects the gut microbiome to immune health, metabolism, and chronic disease. With 75% of U.S. adults and 45% of U.S. children living with at least one chronic condition (CDC 2025, JAMA 2025), the gut microbiome is emerging as a foundational piece of precision medicine and care.
Unlike competitors, Tiny Health owns its full, in-house bioinformatics pipeline and is the only gut microbiome company that has published an interventional randomized controlled trial (RCT): a 2025 study in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology demonstrating that targeted microbiome interventions reduced infants’ odds of developing eczema by 83%. With four published scientific papers and a second RCT underway, Tiny Health is also expanding research into conditions including IBD, menopause, GLP-1, and oncology drug response, all grounded in the world’s largest longitudinal microbiome dataset.

Tiny Health will use the capital to advance clinical research and interventional studies, expand its healthcare practitioner education, and scale Powered by Tiny, its B2B platform. The company is also accelerating TinyAI, the world’s first AI trained on Tiny Health’s proprietary dataset of nearly 200,000 microbiome profiles, to deliver personalized, science-backed guidance tied directly to a user's results. TinyAI integrates with the science, so as the dataset grows, its guidance becomes more precise, translating directly into a better patient experience and improved health outcomes.
“We founded Tiny Health because the science is so impactful, the need is urgent, and no one else was building for the whole lifespan,” said Cheryl Sew Hoy, CEO and Founder of Tiny Health. “What started as a solution for my own family has become the infrastructure for an entire industry. This Series B round propels microbiome science as the foundational layer for the next frontier of medicine.”
Announcing the Microbiome Research Program
Alongside its own research, Tiny Health is committing $5 million to advance microbiome science and support researchers working to unlock the microbiome’s potential to improve human health. The Microbiome Research Program will enable researchers, clinicians, and scientific partners to leverage Tiny Health’s microbiome testing, data, and research capabilities to investigate important intervention strategies in microbiome health.
“Tiny Health believes the next breakthroughs in microbiome science will come from bringing more researchers and institutions into the field,” said Kimberley Sukhum, PhD, Chief Science Officer at Tiny Health. “This investment will help generate new evidence and foster collaborations across the scientific community, building on Tiny Health’s growing body of peer-reviewed research and its commitment to advancing rigorous, accessible microbiome science.”
Tiny Health recently expanded the ways its data can inform precision health and has been translating its work in early-life health to the other end of the lifespan, developing new tools for longevity and healthy aging including Gut Microbiome Age, Gut Resilience, and Gut Body Connections that help people understand the gut as part of a connected biological system — and what they can do about the microbiome factors within their control.
"We believe the gut microbiome represents one of the most significant and underexplored frontiers in human health, and Tiny Health has built the platform best positioned to bring that science and the actionable health insights that follow to patients, providers, and partners at scale," said Nick Whitehead, Senior Principal at B Capital, who will join the Tiny Health Board of Directors. “We are excited to partner with Cheryl and the Tiny Health team as they build a category-defining company that can help shape the future of precision medicine and care.”
From the First 1,000 Days to Age 100+
Founded in 2020 and launched in 2022, Tiny Health introduced the first gut microbiome test for babies, built on shotgun metagenomic sequencing, alongside gut and vaginal microbiome testing for moms. The company is grounded in the science of the first 1,000 days of life, when the gut microbiome is most malleable and its influence on lifelong immune health and chronic conditions is most profound.
There is no universal “healthy” microbiome, particularly in older children and adults. Rather, functional characteristics such as diversity, resilience, and metabolic markers can be the most meaningful factors in determining microbiome risk and intervention. With significant variability in how microbiome testing is performed and interpreted industry-wide, Tiny Health is building the rigorous, validated methodology needed to make those measurements consistent, reliable, and clinically meaningful.
“We are seeing unprecedented innovation at the intersection of biology, data, and AI, creating new opportunities to make healthcare more personalized and proactive. Tiny Health has created a differentiated platform that translates rigorous microbiome science into actionable insights that can help fundamentally change how people understand and improve their health across every stage of life,” added Adam Seabrook, Partner at B Capital.
Today, Tiny Health’s platform serves nearly 200,000 customers and more than 6,000 healthcare practitioners across independent practices, hospital systems, longevity clinics, consumer health companies, and precision medicine organizations. Adult testing has now surpassed pediatric testing in volume, reflecting the company’s expanding reach across the full lifespan. Tiny Health’s B2B platform, Powered by Tiny, grew 4x last year, with dozens of enterprise partners spanning the healthcare and precision health ecosystem, including Fullscript, Mayo Clinic’s Executive Health and Longevity Programs, Atria Institute, Superpower, and more.
