WASHINGTON, Sept. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Breast cancer experts, celebrities, advocates, and survivors will come together Tuesday evening for the Let’s Beat Breast Cancer Give-A-Thon, a special live virtual event focused on sharing evidence-based information and practical steps that may help lower breast cancer risk. The hour-long event will feature breast cancer surgeon Dr. Kristi Funk and Dr. Neal Barnard, president of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, alongside an extensive lineup of celebrity guests, survivors and advocates. The event will stream live on YouTube on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 8 p.m. ET.

“We want to empower people with information and practical steps they can take for their health,” said Dr. Barnard. “Everyone deserves access to information that can help them understand breast cancer risk and the role that lifestyle choices can play.”

The program will feature an evening of meaningful conversations, personal stories, public service announcements, and messages of support from people whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. Among the featured guests are Alicia Silverstone, William H. Macy, Felicity Huffman, Marilu Henner, Dionne Lea, Tamara Taylor, Samantha Harris, Mekia Cox, and Miss Maryland 2026 Holly Plank, along with additional special guests.

Throughout the event, Dr. Barnard and Dr. Funk will discuss the relationship between lifestyle choices and breast cancer risk, including the potential role of diet and physical activity. They will also address disparities in breast cancer awareness and outcomes and the importance of making lifesaving health information accessible to communities across the country. The program will feature stories from breast cancer survivors and advocates, including Amber Henson, Donna Green-Goodman, former president and first lady of the Navajo Nation Jonathan and Phefelia Nez, and Geraldine Adams. The event will also highlight the importance of support from family members and loved ones, including a special appearance by health advocate and food writer Rip Esselstyn and Chuck Carroll, the host of The Exam Room podcast.

“Breast cancer is a serious topic, but there are reasons for hope,” said Dr. Kristi Funk. “We want people to leave this event feeling informed and empowered to take meaningful steps for their health.”

The Give-A-Thon is part of the broader Let’s Beat Breast Cancer campaign, which is working to bring breast cancer prevention information to communities through public events, educational resources, and media outreach. Viewers will have the opportunity to support the campaign throughout the event. Donations will help expand educational outreach and make breast cancer prevention information available to more people.
