Speeding Digital Healthcare Transformation

• Providers such as Kaiser-Permanente and Intermountain Healthcare have updated their approach to integration to ease access to combined electronic health records (EHRs), while participating in Healthcare Information Exchanges (HIEs) and other networks such as ConnectingGTA in order to extend these records throughout cooperating groups of providers who treat the same patients. These efforts depend on common data models based on standards such as HL7 and SNOMED, but without the right tools for API access, it’s laborious to connect with these exchanges.
