TherapyNotes Expands Features with New Outcome Measure and Enhanced HIE Support

TherapyNotes has rolled out a powerful update introducing the Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) as a new clinician-administered outcome measure, enabling practitioners to assess both lifetime and recent suicidal ideation and behavior, with forms available in English and Spanish and saved directly into a client’s chart for deeper risk assessment. Alongside this, they’ve significantly enhanced their Health Information Exchange (HIE) capabilities — adding integration with Connecticut’s “Connie” HIE in addition to their existing connection with North Carolina’s HealthConnex. To make this seamless, there’s a new HIE settings page where practices can configure exactly which clinicians and payers send data, and TherapyNotes will automatically send required patient encounter and diagnosis information when clinicians sign notes — but only for relevant patients. On the diagnostic front, they’ve restored DSM-5 descriptions for F- and Z-codes (rather than the less intuitive ICD-10 behavioral health definitions), making documentation more clinically meaningful. Finally, for Spanish-speaking clients, the TherapyPortal now supports full password resets in Spanish, reflecting the company’s continuing efforts toward better multilingual accessibility.
