Vacancies in govt hospitals will be filled soon: Minister

Tamil Nadu’s Health Minister Ma Subramanian has confirmed that the state government will fill all vacant doctor positions in government hospitals within the next 10 days. He made the announcement on June 28, 2025, during a visit to Dindigul, where he inaugurated health infrastructure projects worth around ₹13 crore—including a CT scan, digital X‑ray, and fluoroscopy unit at Dindigul Government Medical College Hospital, valued at ₹2.8 crore—and oversaw the opening of 15 new medical buildings across the district. The Dindigul Medical College Hospital, which handles approximately 3,600 outpatient visits and 1,550 inpatient admissions daily, is considered one of the top-performing among Tamil Nadu’s newly established government medical colleges. Addressing doctor shortages statewide, Subramanian reiterated the government’s commitment to staffing based on local needs—adding that efforts are already underway to bolster both facilities and personnel at these institutions.
