Epic Systems Leads the Way in Healthcare Interoperability with TEFCA Milestone
Epic Systems has made a breakthrough in healthcare interoperability by connecting 625 hospitals to the TEFCA framework within a year. This effort enhances seamless data exchange, improving care for millions across the U.S. Epic Nexus, a TEFCA-qualified health information network, has connected 625 hospitals since joining the framework in December 2023. TEFCA (Trusted Exchange Framework and the Common Agreement) is a nationwide framework for secure medical records exchange. It was authorized under the bipartisan 21st Century Cures Act as part of congressional efforts to establish universal interoperability.
