Apollo Hospitals Acquires Accel-Backed Healthtech Startup Onco to Expand Cancer Care Ecosystem
In a significant move to strengthen its cancer care ecosystem, Apollo Hospitals, one of India’s largest healthcare providers, has announced the acquisition of Onco.com, an Accel-backed healthtech startup that specializes in personalized cancer care and treatment planning.
Founded in 2017, Onco has emerged as a leading digital platform connecting cancer patients with a curated network of oncologists, hospitals, diagnostics, and care support. The startup has served over 100,000 cancer patients across 25 countries, offering services ranging from second opinions to treatment coordination and post-treatment care.
Apollo Hospitals aims to integrate Onco’s tech-driven services and expert networks into its own Apollo Cancer Centres, thereby creating a more robust, AI-assisted, patient-centric care continuum. This acquisition aligns with Apollo’s vision to build India’s largest and most advanced digital cancer care network, combining clinical excellence with technology for early detection, personalized care plans, and improved patient outcomes.
