Three key points in the MACRA proposed rule that providers should be aware of are that physician payment under Medicare is set to change.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Studies (CMS) released approximately 1,000 pages last week that spelled out the specifics of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA), which was passed just over a year ago. Although many of the specifics surrounding the implementation of MACRA remained unknown until recently, this analysis is part of The Leonard D. Schaeffer Initiative for Innovation in Health Policy, which is a partnership between the USC Schaeffer Center for Health Policy and Economics and the Center for Health Policy at Brookings. The Initiative aims to inform the national health care debate with rigorous, evidence-based analysis leading to practical recommendations using the collaborative strengths of USC and Brookings.
