The positive, negative, and hopeful aspects of Washington’s latest interoperability proposals

Encouraging and cost-effective health care exchanges require robust health information sharing. The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has been advancing ambitious measures to achieve interoperability in recent months. Taken as a whole, this is fantastic. DC regulators do, however, require front-line assistance in certain areas in order to determine what will actually function. Manifest MedEx, the largest nonprofit health data network in California, has met with legislators multiple times in recent months to debate these rules and has also provided comments.
