The Global Health Crisis Is Likely to Spur the AI Industry’s Growth

Lockdowns and social distance following the coronavirus outbreak are hastening the use of online shopping, remote employment, e-commerce, and entertainment. Furthermore, the expansion of online platforms and markets will only intensify the artificial intelligence (AI) gold rush, given their high data generation and reliance on AI. Global e-commerce sales have already increased over the last three years at a rate of more than 20% annually. Every year, the proportion of students enrolled in at least one online course has increased by over two percentage points. Additionally, the proportion of Americans who occasionally work from home has increased by 1% year.
