A novel wearable technology might provide more accurate cancer detection.

Dr. Daniel Hayes, the Stuart B. Padnos Professor of Breast Cancer Research at the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center in Ann Arbor, states that “nobody wants to get a biopsy.” Although biopsies are now the most accurate way to determine whether or not a person has cancer, they are invasive and can be uncomfortable. However, Dr. Hayes says, “We could use them to learn about tumor biology and direct care for the patients if we could extract enough cancer cells from the blood.”
