Republicans need to champion real health care reform.
Republicans appear to be in risk of allowing the health care issue to become their own third rail in politics, following an unsuccessful attempt at reform during the previous Congress. Should they do so, much less will be able to halt a Democratic Party that is consuming any kind of moderation. The president knows that his party must provide an ObamaCare substitute, even if the more circumspect Beltway establishment doesn’t. The general public agrees. If the Affordable Care Act was working as promised, why else would Democrats be so willing to impose a $32 trillion takeover of private health care, including eliminating employer-sponsored insurance?
