Medicaid audits and how they harm children in my state

A letter from a contractor for Medicaid was sent to 300 dentists in Nebraska, many of whom were pediatric specialists. A RAC audit would be conducted, according to the letter. One of those dentists was me. The Affordable Care Act expanded the Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program, which originally only applied to Medicare, to Medicaid. It makes it possible for private contractors to request patient records, check up on doctors, and take a cut of any reimbursements.
