Maxim Healthcare Services Names National Caregiver of the Year
Buttchen, a nurse for more than 50 years, was chosen by a panel of judges for her significant contributions to the home nursing community. Buttchen places greater importance on the welfare of others than her own, and is regarded by her coworkers as one of the most altruistic, compassionate, kind, and diligent people. Despite having lymphoma, she maintains a good outlook and is constantly seeking for ways to help people. She carries out caregiving duties in her personal life as well, delivering Meals on Wheels to those in need, caring for a friend who has Alzheimer’s, and providing her friend’s wheelchair-bound husband with advice so that their trip can be safe and enjoyable.
